Half-day walks near Pitlochry

If you’ve only got a few hours and you’d like to explore the fantastic countryside around Pitlochry, there are some great half-day walks. Here are some ideas: 

Pitlochry – a walk through time

A lovely walk around Pitlochry, visiting the spectacular Black Spout (a 20m waterfall), the ruined Caisteal Dubh (the “Black Castle”) which has an interesting story to tell, an old coaching inn, and a bouncy bridge! Find out more.

Pass of Killiecrankie

A fantastic half-day walk which passes Tenandry Kirk and some ruined homesteads on the way up Craig Fonvuick – a super viewpoint. The route then goes to the Pass of Killiecrankie and the famous Soldier’s Leap. Find out more.

Stones of the Ascent

This super half-day walk starts and finishes in Pitlochry. It takes in part of the Rob Roy Way and visits Clachan an Diridh – the “stones of the ascent” – an ancient stone circle. The views from this walk can be excellent. Find out more.
